Patrick's
Patrick's on Elms Spring in Springdale Arkansas is a family run restaurant. It was started by Great Grandma Patrick. They are known for having the best hamburger in Northwest Arkansas and for their fried pies.
Currently Patrick's is close to Whataburger. They are less than a half mile a part from each other. Whataburger is a burger joint. Patrick's has to compete against a chain burger joint. One of the ways they are competing is adding a debit machine. Before a customer would need to use cash or an ATM machine in the building to buy food.
Patrick's hired a local sign artist and craftsman to redecorate. On the outside side of the building where it can catch traffics attention is a mural of a log cabin with a old person wearing overalls in a straw hat. http://patricksburgers.homestead.com/Decor.html
While Patrick's continue to offer what you expect at an old fashioned mom and pop burger joint they have added new menu items. Customers can order a Jalapeno Cheeseburger. There is also Jalapeno poppers, pizza burger, and mini tacos on the menu.
Customer's can call in orders ahead of time. I see people frequently stop by in pick up orders while I am waiting for my own order to be finished. It is not uncommon for a lot of people to be there when I drive by. It doesn't look like being near Whataburger has hurt business any. With a Children's hospital being built close by business is bound to improve and competition might grow worse as new food places are built near by.
